From the Court to the Calling
More Than A Game Nation was founded in 2022, with just a small group of kids, their parents and their Coaches. But long before that, it started with a little girl who just wanted to shoot hoops with her Mom. That Mom, our Founder of More Than A Game Nation, Nadine Serrano. She didn’t set out to become a Coach. She set out to connect with her daughter and the Youth.
Our Story
Basketball wasn't just a way to spend time with her daughter, it was a way to understand her, to witness who she was becoming. What began as fun, casual play with a ball, slowly transformed into something deeper — something sacred. As Nadine watched her daughter and other youth wrestle with fear, shame, self-doubt, nervousness, frustration, pain, and failure on the Court — She realized she wasn’t having to Coach just Basketball
Our Realization
She was having to Coach the invisible — the stories they told themselves, the fears they carried, and the truths they needed to hear. She was having to Coach young hearts, young minds, and big spirits — guiding them through the battles within, not just the battles on the Court. And somewhere along the way, Basketball stopped being just a game.
Our Vision
That's When More Than A Game Nation Was Born
Not as a business. Not as a brand. But as a Calling. Because if this game could do this for Nadine and her daughter — if it could change the dynamic between a Parent and Child, a Player and Coach, if it could unlock Courage, Emotional Resilience, Confidence and Faith — then Nadine knew it could do the same for others. For Families. For Communities. For Generations.
Nadine started coaching other kids. She started mentoring parents. She started paying attention to the moments between the drills — the tears, the doubts, the breakthroughs, the Losses, the Victories. She began designing a System that treated every athlete like a whole person. A system rooted in Spiritual growth, Emotional Intelligence, Mental Toughness, and Family Connection — All through the Language of Sports.
And let us tell you — that language speaks volumes.

MTAG Nation is a Movement, and a Message that says:
“You are not just your Performance. You are your Process. You have Power. You have Purpose.”
Today, MTAG Nation has completely Revolutionized the Sports Industry. Through our Year-Round Travel Teams, Cognitive and Emotional Fitness Training, Mental Toughness Camps + Skills Clinics, we have established a new Basketball Culture.

In the past 11 years, Nadine has Mentored and helped guide hundreds of athletes, parents, and Coaches who want to build something that lasts longer than their Trophy case.
They want to build a Legacy. Through MTAG, we offer a space where Sports are not only about Physical skill. We teach Athletes how to Rise, Families how to Connect and Communities how to Grow together.
This isn’t just a story of a mom and a daughter playing basketball.
It’s a story about what happens when you listen to the quiet call inside your heart and soul.
